1989 Batman Brochure Interior
This brochure was handed out to movie goers during the opening weekend of Tim Burton's 1989 Batman film. I recently found the one I saved tucked in the pages of an old book.
Of particular interest is the action figures they're showing here: the Batman and Joker are test-shots based on the figures from Kenner's Super-Powers line. The final figures that shipped were created by Toy Biz and were completely different molds. Was Kenner originally tapped to do the toyline, or was Toy Biz going to use their molds? Or, most likely, were the final figures so unfinished that they simply repainted some Kenner figures for these photos? Who knows.
On the other hand, the Batmobile, Batwing, Batcave, and Bob the Goon figure shown here are almost exactly what Toy Biz shipped to stores.
Some old Kinder egg toys, except for the marble and Batman. I remember receving that marble when I was around 3 or 4. It's a really precious memory.
The Batman is from 1989, when the first movie came out, and I became a 'batmaniac'. My aunt bought it for me when she took me and my cousins to the circus in Budapest.
